Bliss and the Body The body is interested in its survival and reproducing one like itself. The only way it can reproduce itself is through the use of thought. So thought is very essential for the survival of the living organism. The body is not interested in spiritual activity or psychological activity. None of the spiritual experiences are of any value to the body. On the other hand, they create a tremendous strain. The bliss, beatitude, love, compassion—all those that the religious man had placed before us are only adding to the strain of the body.
